Job Summary
Deliver medications to designated areas under close supervision and refill automated dispensing machines. Price manual medication orders, inventory stock, and enter patient orders into the pharmacy system while reviewing physician orders for clarification. Accurately compound IV admixtures using aseptic technique and perform related clerical duties including typing, answering phones, and greeting staff. Maintain stock in assigned areas, including the IV room, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Work a flexible schedule that may include 24/7 shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability. Must possess current Pharmacy Technician Certification and high school diploma.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Board of Pharmacy in the state of practice
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Skills to operate standard pharmacy and office equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
