Job Summary
As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), the role involves assisting nurses with vital signs and medication passes, communicating client needs, helping new clients with orientation, performing clerical duties, and documenting client activities in the EHR. The BHT will also assist with client transport, manage emergency procedures, and employ de-escalation techniques as necessary. A key requirement is to participate in ongoing education related to addiction and mental health, and maintain professional boundaries while adhering to agency protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- 25 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license
- CPR Certified or willingness to obtain certification as offered by TNDR
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or some college preferred
- Minimum experience working with target population preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of substance abuse/addiction issues or related work experience preferred
- Possess proficient computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to establish and maintain professional therapeutic boundaries
Additional Requirements
- 21 -24 years of age (will not be permitted to transport clients)
