Job Summary
Private Investigator role focused on undercover surveillance and investigative work in corporate settings (e.g., factory floors, restaurants, night clubs). Conduct covert surveillance, use surveillance techniques/equipment, gather intelligence, perform background checks, conduct interviews, document and report findings, and ensure confidentiality and adherence to legal/ethical standards. Requires Ontario Private Investigator license, ability to travel within Ontario on short notice (extended projects), 12-hour shifts including weekends/holidays, seating/standing/driving for long periods, fluent English, and ability to de-escalate confrontational situations. Bonus qualifications include experience in policing or military fields and a willingness to work on contract-based assignments of 1–120 days with accommodations provided as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a valid Private Investigator license in the province of Ontario
- Willingness to travel on short notice within Ontario for extended periods (minimum 4 week commitment)
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Able to sit, walk, stand, and/or drive for extended periods
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Be a Canadian resident and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Experience dealing with confrontational situations and ability to de-escalate with little to no supervision
- Experience with the court injunction process
- Excellent report writing skills
