Job Summary
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support M&A transaction preparation and strategy for strategic buyers, sellers, and private equity firms. Draft error-free legal documents including memos, contracts, and correspondence while managing complex transactions from inception to resolution. Build and maintain client relationships through regular updates, advice, and prompt professional communication during negotiations and meetings. Ensure rigorous compliance with legal standards and regulations while fostering positive work relationships within a fast-paced environment. Proactively seek ongoing training to enhance legal knowledge and leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- Superior academic credentials
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
- JD Degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the state of New York
- 3 years of private equity experience
- Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 firm experience
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties
- Ability to produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner
- Ability to provide timely, accurate, and quality work product
- Ability to successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required
- Ability to foster positive work relationships
- Ability to comply with all firm policies and practices
- Ability to engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as (a) working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; (b) participating in digital/virtual conference calls; (c) participating in meetings as needed
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience running high-profile M&A or PE transactions
- Spent a majority of their time on M&A or PE matters
- Between 3-7 years of experience at a leading corporate law firm
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
