Job Summary
Obtain accurate patient information, verify insurance on the date of service, and file and maintain medical records. Correct registration work queue errors, confirm and schedule appointments, and answer telephone calls promptly. Perform referral documentation, follow-up services for patients, and manage claims edit work queues to ensure submission to insurance companies. Scan documents, monitor fax servers, and assign materials to electronic charts while adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and Sparq standards. Work cooperatively with the care team to achieve financial, clinical, and service goals in a high-pace environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- GED
- 1+ year of customer service-related or healthcare experience
- Ability to work 3 days in Worcester and 2 days in Leominster according to the listed schedule
- Access to reliable transportation
- Valid US driver's license
- Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely
- Ability to understand and interpret information from others
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to abide by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements
- Ability to pass a drug test
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- Knowledge of Epic EMR software
