Job Summary
Provide companion care and personal assistance for a Parkinson's client, including ADLs like bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support. Transport the client to lunch, doctor appointments, and outdoor activities while maintaining a clean home environment. Monitor client condition changes and report updates to supervisors, adhering to the personalized plan of care and HIPAA protocols. Stand ready with uniform and ID, phone charged, and childcare arranged for 12-hour Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Previous caregiving or HHA experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Auto insurance
- Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively
- Up-to-date vaccinations including COVID-19, Influenza, and Hepatitis B
Desired Qualifications
- Experience caring for clients with Parkinson's disease
- Minimum one (1) year of documented home care assistance and/or direct care experience at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility
- Successful completion of a nursing assistant or certified home health aide program
