Job Summary
Private Duty CNA/HHA providing in-home personal healthcare support to clients in their residence, including transferring, health maintenance activities, mobility, feeding, and exercises per the Plan of Care; communicates with administrative staff about client/family needs and reports changes in condition; documents cares provided and participates in care coordination with the team; applies infection control and universal precautions; participates in in-service training and ongoing competency development; maintains required licensure and certifications (HHA/CNA, CPR) and ensures transportation to fulfill duties; works in patients' homes with flexible arrangements and potential for contract as a 1099 caregiver; contributes to continuity of care and regular team/case conference participation.
Required Qualifications
- (1) year experience as a home health aide or certified nursing assistant in a home health setting. Successful completion of formal training in nursing arts may be substituted for the qualifying experience, subject to applicable State law, regulation, or rules.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all segments of the staff, and the Agency leadership team.
- Shall be able to read, write and comprehend English.
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Home Health Aide Certificate or other similar certification held in good standing. Certification requirements may vary by state and/or participating program.
- A formal certificate of completion for an HHA/CNA training program that meets or exceeds standards established by Health and Human Services. Completion of all in-service hours per year. Ongoing requirements may vary by state and/or participating program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current driver’s license in good standing. The employee is responsible for renewing their driver’s license before it expires to continue employment.
- Reliable transportation and auto liability insurance.
- On-going employment as a HHA always requires maintaining a valid HHA certificate in the state where the caregiver practices in and a valid CPR certificate. The employee is responsible for renewing these before they expire to continue employment.
