Job Summary
Conduct expert advice on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trust matters, Tax advice, and Probate while liaising with clients and third parties. Process files from start to finish, manage client ledgers, and ensure compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules and GDPR. Prepare correspondence using in-house software, maintain manual filing systems, and close files following relevant processes. Provide support to other fee earners when needed and cover their absence. Manage personal billing targets and undertake specific training for self-improvement. Ensure confidentiality of all firm and client documentation. This role offers a pathway into a Head of Department position within a well-established legal practice with over 40 years of history.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor
- 5–7 years' PQE in Private Client work
- Proven experience handling a broad private client caseload independently
- Demonstrable leadership potential
- Enthusiasm for developing a department
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised, methodical, adaptable, and detail-oriented
- Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
- High levels of accuracy and efficiency
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
- Sound knowledge of GDPR and Solicitors' Accounts Rules relevant to private client work
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
