Job Summary
Coordinate the entire credit approval process, including loan approvals within lending authority for consumer and commercial relationships, while partnering with mortgage experts on complex requests. Manage a loan portfolio by handling credit and collateral exceptions and past dues, and provide financial counseling to Trustmark's "BEST" clients through a team approach. Deliver customized credit, deposit, investment, insurance, and fiduciary solutions to high-net-worth individuals in the Greater Houston area. Lead team development, cross-train associates, and drive succession planning for Level II roles. Maintain professional community relations to increase bank visibility and generate new business opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year college education or equivalent work experience
- 5 years banking experience or related work experience to include previous lending experience
- Knowledgeable of Private Banking and the bank financial products and services
- Knowledge of deposit and loan products, as well as bank policy
- Knowledge of document preparation and new accounts systems
- Knowledge of negotiable instruments
- Complete understanding of the requirements of properly securing a loan
- Familiar with state and federal regulations and bank policies relating to credit
- Knowledge of sales principles
- Knowledge of Basic investment strategies implemented by High net worth clients
- Knowledge of Basic estate planning strategies implemented by High net worth clients
- Knowledge of Basic insurance strategies implemented by High net worth clients
- Superior judgment in making loan decisions
- Experience dealing with sophisticated clientele
- Experience in recognizing and handling troubled loans and problem customers
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of loan and deposit debits and credits
- Strong analytical ability
- Advanced interpersonal skills
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to build relationships
- Customer contact and sales and service skills

- Ability to lead the work of others
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens

Desired Qualifications
- Prefer degree in Finance, Accounting, Insurance, Business, related field, or equivalent experience
- Bank branch work preferred
- Previous investment experience with 7, 63, or 66, and insurance licensure preferred
- Preferably commercial lending banking experience or related work
