Job Summary
Lead the design and evolution of innovative methodologies, classification frameworks, and analytical tools for MSCI's private asset solutions. Own projects from concept to implementation, including validation, documentation, and governance approval, while transforming complex research into practical insights for institutional investors. Collaborate with Product and Commercial teams to develop solutions addressing evolving client needs, presenting innovations to senior leadership and directly partnering with clients to shape future product development. Contribute to thought leadership through research publications and market insights, while mentoring junior researchers to foster analytical excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in research, investment strategy, product development, or a similar role within asset management or financial services
- A proven ability to lead projects from idea to execution, making thoughtful decisions and driving results with minimal direction
- Experience improving processes, methodologies, or analytical tools—not just maintaining existing ones
- Strong collaboration skills, with a track record of building relationships across teams and contributing to broader business initiatives
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to simplify complex concepts into practical, actionable insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders, cross-functional partners, and institutional clients
- Hands-on experience using Python or R to analyze data, develop prototypes, and solve analytical problems
- A solid understanding of financial markets, investment data, and industry best practices
Desired Qualifications
- An advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
- Experience working with Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, Real Estate, or other Private Assets
- Familiarity with index methodologies, investment benchmarks, or governance committee processes
