Privacy Analyst - Office of Healthcare Compliance - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

Job Summary

Conduct privacy audits, investigations, and incident management to monitor compliance with HIPAA, CMIA, GDPR, and organizational policies. Compile performance metrics for governance reporting, revise privacy policies and procedures, and develop training programs for clinical staff, volunteers, and third parties. Assist the Privacy Leadership in reviewing systems and processes to ensure adherence to federal, state, and accreditation standards while educating target audiences on privacy awareness. Full-time, 8-hour days, exempt status. Bachelor's degree with two years of healthcare compliance experience required. USC Keck Hospital of USC, a 343-bed academic medical center, provides exceptional care across diverse specialties and supports hundreds of clinical trials.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, handling matters related to compliance and/or privacy and confidentiality of patient health information
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to understand and provide advice on state and federal privacy regulations applying to the use, access and disclosure of confidential protected health information
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work autonomously, and drive projects forward to completion
  • A high level of attention to detail and the ability to apply critical thinking and investigatory skills to complex issues
  • The capability to effectively interact with patients in resolving privacy complaints
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated understanding of health care operations
  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
  • Must be able to obtain Fire Life Safety Training within 30 days of hire if not possessed upon hire

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience using a data analytics tool and/or proactive privacy monitoring software
  • Job Relevant Certification in healthcare privacy or security (e.g., CHC, CHPC, and CIPP), completion of an accredited healthcare privacy or security field of study
