Job Summary
As a Prisoner Custody Officer (PCO) you’ll be part of a team delivering safe and secure escorting and custody services for detainees during court proceedings. You’ll escort detainees within the court, supervise during hearings, monitor behaviour and risks, conduct searches, and maintain detainee welfare and confidentiality. The role requires handling sensitive situations, ensuring safety and security, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with court staff and partners. Full UK driving licence is desirable, with paid training (51⁄2-week) and ongoing development; the role operates on a 24/6 shift pattern with rotaed hours and potential overtimes to meet operational demands. Required Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence (B/B1) (desirable)
- Reasonable fitness for the physical demands of the role
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

- Confidence managing behaviour and de-escalating conflict
- Teamwork and the ability to follow processes accurately
