Job Summary
Part-time Prison Education Program (PEP) Coordinator to support coordination and administration of Rochester Christian University’s Prison Education Program, serving as primary liaison between the university and correctional facility partners. Responsibilities include day-to-day operations, processing security clearances, supporting student admission and academic progress, and helping incarcerated and reentry students access university resources. Requires strong collaboration across departments, adherence to MDOC policies, and commitment to EPIC values (Exploring, Preparing, Integrating, Calling) and the university mission. Knowledge of corrections environments, admissions processes, student records, and program coordination is preferred; role emphasizes accessibility to higher education for justice-involved students and program compliance across institutional and correctional contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, criminal justice, or a related field; or a record of successful higher education teaching and administrative experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, educational equity, and access to higher education
- Ability to work inside a Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) facility, including access to reliable transportation
- Supportive of the University mission
