Job Summary
Prior Authorization Supervisor responsible for overseeing on-/off-label drug and molecular pathology prior authorizations in the outpatient setting; manages staff, ensures medical necessity alignment with payer policies, collaborates with pharmacists, clinicians, and payer medical directors, and supports workflow design and denial resolution within Dana-Farber's Access Management Department. Collaboration with attending physicians on treatment alternatives when denials occur; strong leadership, clinical knowledge (oncology focus a plus), and experience with drug and molecular pathology prior authorizations are essential. Located in Boston and surrounding communities; direct supervision of up to fifteen staff and coordination with revenue-cycle teams. Responsibilities include training, process improvement, and maintaining SOPs; requires a BSN and an active MA RN license (preferred). Knowledge of third-party payer policies, medical literature reviews, and effective communication with providers and payers is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years in a Case Management, Utilization Review, and/or related healthcare experience
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Prior patient access experience, revenue cycle experience, and/or payer rules and regulations knowledge required.
