Job Summary
Lead and direct the press team to execute pre-press submittals through finished print of flexible films, managing workflows, standard operating procedures, and supplier relationships to ensure quality, safety, and cost control. Recruit, train, and coach staff while establishing performance expectations, conducting evaluations, and addressing employee relations issues in partnership with Human Resources. Own departmental quality performance, including customer complaints, internal defects, waste reduction, and corrective actions, while tracking metrics and preparing regular reports to leadership. Manage departmental budgets, recommend equipment upgrades, and maintain accurate documentation and approved artwork files. Serve as the primary liaison between graphic design, customer service, production, and external partners to resolve technical issues and communicate specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic communication, Printing Technology, Packaging, or a related field and/or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in flexographic printing, prepress, or print production
- Proven experience in pre-press or print production within a flexographic or packaging environment
- Strong knowledge of color management, file formats, and printing processes
- Ability to drive a company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle on behalf of the company
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Maintain an acceptable driving record, as evidenced by completion of a baseline motor vehicle record check and ongoing monitoring
- Agree to the company driving policies that apply to company owned/leased vehicle or personal vehicle as applicable
- When driving a personal vehicle on behalf of the company, provide a copy of the declaration page from personal auto insurance that shows the policy dates and minimum coverage amounts ($300,000 bodily injury per accident/$100,000 property damage per accident or if driving less than 5 hours/200 miles a year $50,000 bodily injury per accident/$10,000 property damage per accident or the state minimum, whichever is more)
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and prepress software such as Esko or ArtPro preferred
- Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) certification preferred or ability to obtain within six months, including FIRST Press Operator Level III
- Driver Qualification Program inclusion
