Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Engineer

PCB Design Engineer responsible for end-to-end PCB layout and development for Caterpillar products. Responsibilities include creating new PCB designs and modifying existing ones based on engineering specifications, producing detailed schematics and fabrication/assembly drawings, generating Gerber and assembly files, and performing design rule checks (DRC) and electrical rule checks (ERC) to ensure functionality, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration with electrical, mechanical and other engineering teams; strong grounding in PCB fabrication, signal integrity, power distribution, thermal management, EMI/EMI considerations, and high-voltage design. Experience with PCB design tools (Altium Designer, Allegro/OrCAD) and knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-2152, IPC-A-600) is required. Desired qualifications include IPC-7351, PCB simulation tools, high-speed PCB techniques, ECAD library translation, and a multi-layer (8+ layers) design capability. The role requires onsite work five days a week and relocation is available.
