Job Summary
Principal Mainframe z/OS Architect/Lead role overseeing end-to-end trading, fund accounting, and NAV calculations for high-accuracy, high-volume financial processing. Take end-to-end ownership of critical trading, valuation, and fund accounting platforms, designing and managing core financial processing logic across trade lifecycle, position, holdings, and cash accounting, with daily/monthly NAV calculations and regulatory/reconciliation workflows. Lead architecture and development of Enterprise COBOL applications supporting trade capture, settlement, and lifecycle processing; ensure data integrity and restartable, checkpoint-driven batch frameworks for financial close, multi-currency valuation, FX conversions, and corporate actions. Requires deep domain expertise in capital markets, batch engineering, and performance tuning of DB2 z/OS-based systems; familiarity with Control-M/CA-7/Tivoli Workload Scheduler, Endevor/Changeman, and IBM MQ integrations; hybrid in Jersey City, NJ; contract role with negotiable rate. Knowledge of SOX/SEC/audit traceability and capability to support regulatory reporting is expected.
Required Qualifications
- 18+ years of hands-on mainframe application development
- Operating at Lead / Architect / Principal level
- Experience with Enterprise COBOL (high-precision financial calculations, packed decimal handling)
- DB2 for z/OS (SQL tuning, performance engineering)
- CICS TS and/or IMS TM transaction processing
- JCL, PROCs, and enterprise batch processing frameworks
- Trading and post-trade processing systems
- Investment accounting and fund administration platforms
- NAV calculation and valuation engines
- Ownership of production-critical financial applications
- SOX/SEC/regulatory auditing readiness and traceability
