Job Summary
Principal - Water/Wastewater Design Center leads the build-out of a centralized design center focused on water and wastewater infrastructure. Responsible for establishing vision, structure, and operating model; recruiting, developing, and leading engineering teams (EITs, PEs, designers, PMs); creating scalable delivery frameworks to support multi-office and national project needs; overseeing delivery of water/wastewater treatment, conveyance, and stormwater projects with emphasis on technical excellence, quality control, and adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Provides technical leadership, mentoring, and QA/QC oversight; manages performance metrics (backlog, utilization, profitability); champions innovation, digital design tools, and process improvements; partners with regional leaders to align resources with demand; supports business development and talent development in a collaborative, high-accountability environment.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering and project/program delivery
- Proven experience leading teams, projects, or operations at scale
- Strong understanding of design delivery models, project workflows, and quality standards
- Demonstrated ability to build and grow teams, develop leaders, and drive performance
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and implement new operating models
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
