Job Summary
Lead projects and define project elements and processes required to meet client needs, including presenting directly to clients on technical and design solutions. Directly supervise teams' design and technical delivery, oversee performance to contracts through shared planning and monitoring of work orders, and coordinate with project management to execute project plans. Serve as a discipline leader and subject matter expert, participating in quality improvement and assurance activities while recommending new practices or changes in emphasis for professional services. Lead the development and application of company-wide standard operating procedures and technical requirements for projects and discipline deliverables. Manage a small team of direct reports and maintain client relationships through all project phases to win new work.
Required Qualifications
- degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 15 years relevant experience
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- professional engineer in good standing
- knowledge of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances
- proficiency in production software and construction document production
- ability to make decisions that have significant impact to an organization
- ability to recommend operational strategies and plans with direct impact on results
- recognition as a thought leader in the industry
- experience leading the work of multiple disciplines
- experience participating in and/or having decision-making on technical matters within discipline
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- ability to communicate with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance
- ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders
