Job Summary
Operationalize the Vehicle Line Director's program strategy by translating high-level product vision into actionable technical and business roadmaps for a major vehicle zone. Own the zone's unit economics, including COGS and total investment, while leading technical cost-down initiatives and value engineering to protect program margins. Direct cross-functional orchestration to ensure end-to-end execution meets program objectives, overseeing Design Maturity, manufacturing readiness, and supplier capacity. Manage validation asset planning and budgeting to synchronize rigorous testing with build phases. This role requires 12+ years in automotive program management and operates within Southern California with a salary range of $201,300-287,500.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years in automotive program management or engineering leadership
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale vehicle programs from concept through launch
- Demonstrated ability to operate in highly ambiguous environments, making high-stakes decisions with incomplete data
- Comprehensive knowledge of automotive cost structures
- Direct experience managing total landed cost
- Direct experience managing BOM/Non-BOM COGS
- Direct experience managing large-scale CAPEX budgets
- Proven ability to influence VP-level stakeholders
- Proven ability to build cross-functional consensus on high-level strategic decisions
Desired Qualifications
- Prior Design & Release (D&R) experience in complex systems (e.g., Battery, Chassis, Body, or EE)
