Job Summary
The Principal Transmission Lines Engineer will take ownership of preparing and delivering comprehensive work scopes for overhead transmission and distribution lines. Responsibilities include identifying line corridors, developing PLS CADD models, analyzing PLS TOWER models, performing micro-spotting of towers, generating bills of materials, and preparing stringing charts. Strong client relationship development, collaboration with stakeholders, participation in design reviews, and staying updated on industry trends are also key aspects of this role. A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering and CPEng or RPEQ certification are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in various aspects of overhead transmission line design including preliminary route alignment, PLS CADD modelling, tower micro spotting, stringing chart preparation and generation of bill of materials
- Proven experience in the design of transmission lines up to 500 kV
- Proficiency in use of overhead line design tools and software like PLS CADD & PLS TOWER
- Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
- Experience working in digital engineering environments
