Job Summary
Embedded technology consultant role inside client engineering teams focusing on AWS leadership and complex infrastructure work. Lead design and implementation of AWS landing zones and migrations, architect scalable cloud solutions, and drive secure-by-default practices. Collaborate with clients and Portable engineers to deliver production-grade systems, deploy infrastructure-as-code, optimize costs, and mentor teams while operating with a high degree of autonomy. Role supports hybrid and remote options with active embedding in client environments and Portable’s culture; opportunities include observability, SRE, and advanced software development across engagements.
Required Qualifications
- AWS Professional or Specialist certifications
- deep AWS expertise
- designed and implemented cloud landing zones
- multi-account architectures
- infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, AWS CDK)
- built and maintained CI/CD pipelines
- Linux and Windows systems knowledge
- understands cloud economics
- database performance and scalability across SQL and cloud-native patterns
- worked in regulated or security-conscious environments
- ability to collaborate with client engineering teams
- principal/engineering manager-level practitioner
- autonomy in delivery
- interest in embedded consulting roles across observability/SRE/complex software development
