Principal Technical Consultant - Energy Define Studies

Job Summary
Lead multidisciplinary study teams as a trusted advisor to customers developing large-scale energy projects across Norway and Northern Europe. Define study scopes, conduct feasibility analyses, and deliver high-value technical consulting for offshore wind, hydrogen, Power-to-X, and renewable integration. Support clients through critical decision-making from early-phase development to Final Investment Decision by evaluating integrated technical solutions and techno-economic assessments. Collaborate with global experts to leverage best-in-class competencies while mentoring junior consultants and fostering knowledge sharing. Engage in sales and business development activities through technical presentations and proposal development to turn ambitious energy transition visions into executable solutions.
Required Qualifications
- MSc degree in Engineering
- Experience from large industrial, energy or infrastructure projects, preferably covering multiple project phases from feasibility and concept development through execution
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, multidisciplinary studies or engineering projects
- Strong technical understanding within electrical, controls and/or systems engineering
- Experience within energy transition sectors such as offshore wind, hydrogen, Power-to-X, renewable energy integration, battery energy storage systems, microgrids or electrification projects
- Systems-thinking mindset and preferably familiarity with systems engineering methodologies and practices
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience performing techno-economic assessments and evaluating alternative technical solutions
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical, economic and strategic considerations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively with customers and partners
- Curiosity, initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset, combined with a passion for finding innovative solutions to complex challenges
- A genuine interest in understanding how emerging technologies and changing market dynamics are transforming the global energy sector
