Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a physical science (e.g., chemistry, physics, biology) or engineering (chemical, nuclear, electrical, mechanical) with 15 to 20 years’ experience, preferably in nuclear-related assignments; some roles may require advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) to reduce years of experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance (Area Security Access)
• Extensive experience with analytical chemistry, radiochemistry, non-destructive examination techniques, reactor physics, statistics, or plant operations; familiarity with project management and engineering/business-type functions
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on high-visibility, sensitive projects involving budget/schedule/regulatory considerations
• Strong written and verbal communication, interaction with internal/external customers and oversight boards (DOE-SR, DOE-HQ)
• Development of strategic plans and milestones for major program areas; ability to define scope and changing technical requirements
• Safety focus and ability to stop work if unsafe conditions exist
• Knowledge of Nuclear Material Control and Accountability (NMC&A) processes and related DOE orders
• Ability to manage special projects across divisions and mentor next-generation staff
• Bachelor’s in science/engineering with significant years of experience; an advanced degree preferred
