Job Summary

Principal Systems Software Engineer for NVIDIA's LPX System Software team. Lead architecture design of hardware abstraction layers and core system libraries, own API contracts, and drive development of drivers, runtimes, and data-movement pipelines for a novel silicon platform. Shape platform bring-up for new boards and silicon, collaborate with hardware engineering, compiler teams, and data-center operations, and establish agent-assisted engineering practices to accelerate delivery. Fluency in Rust for low-level system software, experience shipping production Rust at hardware/kernel boundaries, and a proven ability to design reusable libraries and APIs with strong ABI/compatibility discipline. Demonstrated leadership in triaging difficult reliability issues, root-cause analyses, and cross-team collaboration. Candidate should have experience with firmware, boot flows, RTOS, RISC-V, Linux driver/kernel-adjacent work, and a track record of delivering scalable, production-grade system software while leveraging AI coding agents as a productivity enhancement.

Required Qualifications

  • Shipped production Rust at hardware or kernel boundary (drivers, firmware, runtimes, etc.)
  • Experience designing and evolving libraries and APIs with ABI and compatibility discipline
  • Fluency in large, multi-repository codebases with layered dependencies
  • Leadership in triage of difficult reliability issues with written root-cause analyses
  • Low-level platform experience: firmware and boot flows, RTOS, BMCs/MCUs, RISC-V or similar
  • Linux driver or kernel-adjacent experience
  • Hardware bring-up and system triage with diagnostics in lab environments
  • Experience building with AI coding agents and integrating them into workflows
  • Ability to communicate architecture and design tradeoffs to engineers and executives
  • Track record of creating scalable, maintainable software architectures
  • Desire to work in a fast-moving, highly technical environment
