Job Summary
Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment, executing actions as directed by senior staff and project management. Troubleshoot moderate to high scope technical problems involving hardware and operating system integration, while designing, developing, and deploying containers. Manage ESXi, VCenter, and Windows domains, including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory, alongside performing data backup and restore using industry best practices. Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and support end-user software installations. Systems operate 24x7 with occasional work beyond standard hours, and travel up to 10% per year to domestic US locations is required.
Required Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
- Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux
- Experience Deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data
- Experience with cloning techniques
- Use and guide use of automation tools e.g. Ansible
- Experience with operating system concepts and implementations
- Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer objects administration, Group Policy)
- Experience with network services related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware
- Experience with an IT incident/service request system
- Experience with troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems
- Experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools
- Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods
- Experience with ESXi, VCenter and Microsoft Windows domains
- Experience with data backup and restore, using industry best practice
- Install and configure software applications requested by end users
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements
- Experience with containers
- Experience with Engineering software installation and support, with emphasis on testing, documentation, and acceptance phases
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
- Must be available for work beyond standard work hours
- Travel required as business needs dictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year
