Job Summary

Manage heterogeneous Red Hat 8 & 9 Enterprise Linux environments using virtualization and containerization technologies including VMware, KVM, Docker, and Kubernetes. Collaborate with engineers and cybersecurity teams to resolve complex infrastructure challenges, ensure DFARS and NIST compliance, and provide critical on-site support for mission systems in a closed DoD area. Respond to both planned and emergent tasks with occasional work outside standard hours and up to 10% travel. Obtain and maintain DoD 8140 / 8570 certification within six months of hire.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance
  • University Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years prior relevant experience
  • Advance Degree in a related field
  • 3 years prior relevant experience
  • Linux or Windows experience
  • Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods
  • Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, networking administration experience
  • Experience with secure system configurations, system hardening, application settings, and tailoring Linux environments
  • Obtain and maintain DoD 8140 / 8570 certification within six months of hire
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to support business needs, including adjusting to shift changes
  • 10% travel as required
  • Occasional work outside standard hours

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, teamwork, communication (written and oral), collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Deep experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and its ecosystem, including authentication and identity services (SSSD, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS) and file sharing/integration services (Samba, NFS)
  • Expertise with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Red Hat Satellite, along with strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Perl, or C to support provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with enterprise storage systems (e.g., NetApp) and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies such as Horizon, Profile Unity, and NVIDIA GPU virtualization (NLS, DLS)
  • Proficiency with monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and compliance assessment tools (ACAS, Splunk, Nessus, SCAP, STIG, Nagios, SolarWinds) and working knowledge of security frameworks (CMMC, NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, DoD RMF)
