Job Summary
Conduct market analysis and commercial due diligence for private sector clients, investors, and developers. Lead complex waste flow, carbon, and market modelling projects using large datasets to generate actionable insight. Provide technical advice on waste services, infrastructure, strategy, procurement, and service improvement projects. Manage project delivery, budgets, and client relationships while supporting business development through opportunity identification and bid preparation. Mentor junior team members and stay informed on UK waste sector policy, infrastructure trends, and emerging technologies. This role sits within SLR's Sustainable Waste Management team, offering hybrid working options and a collaborative culture focused on circular economy and climate challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in the waste, recycling and/or bioenergy sectors
- Experience gained within consultancy, local government, contractors or commercial organisations
- Strong expertise in waste and resource modelling, including mass flow, carbon and financial modelling
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience delivering data-driven analysis to support investment, infrastructure and service development decisions
- Knowledge of waste contracts, technologies, legislation and industry best practice
- Business development experience, including supporting bids and winning new work
- A relevant degree (environmental science, engineering, geography or similar)
- A full UK driving licence
