Principal Structural Engineer - Water Infrastructure

Job Summary
Deliver structural design solutions for complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams from bids and concept design through to detailed design, construction support, and technical assurance. Balance technical quality, programme, and budget while applying sound engineering judgement to help deliver projects successfully. Build trusted relationships with clients and project teams, providing technical advice and contributing to proposal preparation and business development opportunities. Mentor and support developing engineers to foster technical excellence while continuing to build your own expertise. This role offers flexible work arrangements, including hybrid options and alternative start/finish times, within a global team expanding Australia's water infrastructure pipeline.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Proven experience in structural engineering
- Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of Australian structural design standards
- Experience with structural analysis software such as SpaceGass and/or Strand7
- Chartered (CPEng/RPEQ) registration
- Excellent communication skills
- Stakeholder management skills
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
