Job Summary
Principal Structural Engineer role focusing on structural engineering design for discrete work packages, producing reports, calculation packages and specifications; supervising technicians in 3D model and drawing production; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams; communicating design solutions verbally and through sketches, drawings, and presentations; visiting site for inspections during construction and to assess existing structures; reporting to the lead structural engineer and engaging with external consultants; requires Chartered status MIStructE/MICE, Eurocode proficiency, analytical software familiarity, interest in low carbon design, and security clearance prior to appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree and Chartered status (MIStructE / MICE)
- Working knowledge of structural engineering principles and the application of Eurocodes
- Developing understanding of analytical techniques and design software
- Interest in low carbon design and embodied carbon in design solutions
- Willingness to take responsibility for designs and support less experienced team members
- Security clearance required prior to appointment
