Job Summary
The Principal Statistical Methodology Data Scientist role partners with study teams to design and implement fit-for-purpose statistical methodologies, leads development of scalable workflows and templates, mentors junior staff, and engages in consortia and regulatory collaborations to drive evidence-based decision-making in clinical development. Responsibilities include guiding estimand frameworks, trial simulations, covariate adjustment strategies, training and education efforts, open-source tool development, and communication of methodological advances through publications and internal materials. The position emphasizes cross-functional impact at trial and portfolio levels, and requires a PhD or equivalent with 7+ years in biomedical analytics, with demonstrated leadership and expertise in statistical computing and innovative methods.
Required Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline
- 7+ years of experience designing and applying advanced analytics to complex biomedical data in clinical trial research
- deep expertise in statistical computing and advanced modeling
- track record of developing novel or custom analytical solutions
- recognition as a technical expert and thought partner
- experience mentoring others and contributing to internal standards, strategy, or capability development
- ability to influence portfolio- or program-level decisions through quantitative analyses
- publication/presentation or internal white papers demonstrating innovative analytical thinking
- thought leadership in AI/ML in translational research, real-world data integration, or predictive biomarkers
- capacity to collaborate across cross-functional teams and external consortia
