Job Summary
Principal Statistical Methodologist role based in Raleigh, NC, joining UCB’s Statistical Innovation team to provide statistical consultation on trial design and analysis across development stages; develop and apply advanced model-based methods using frequentist and Bayesian techniques; run and guide complex analyses and simulations to inform design options, sample size, and power; communicate complex quantitative topics clearly to diverse audiences; contribute to internal learning through training and to external profile via publications and industry initiatives; role emphasizes hybrid work with 40% in-office time in local hubs.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in statistics, mathematics, or a closely related scientific discipline
- 3+ years of biostatistics experience within the pharmaceutical industry
- Expertise in advanced statistical methods and innovative trial design; experience with causal inference and estimands is an advantage
- Strong statistical programming skills (R preferred)
- Knowledge of ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements from major health authorities
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs
