Principal Solution Engineer

Job Summary
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for all incoming customer and sales-driven requests, owning the full workflow from intake through resolution. Define change impact and lead approved modifications through the Engineering Change Management process, ensuring documentation and implementation stay on track. Coordinate cross-functional alignment with Sales and Project Engineering to drive complex technical requests to conclusion while maintaining structured status tracking. Apply system-level thinking across electrical, mechanical, and software domains to assess feasibility, risk, and cross-domain impact of proposed changes. Work hybrid in Tysons, VA, three days per week.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in applications engineering, systems engineering, ideally within energy storage, power generation, or industrial electrical equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
- Electrical Engineering strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience spanning electrical, mechanical, and software (EMS) systems, including high voltage, low voltage, controls, and communication architectures.
- Proven ability to lead technical requests from intake through resolution, including ownership of formal engineering change management (ECM) processes.
- Strong system level thinking, able to assess how a change in one subsystem (electrical, mechanical, or software) affects the system as a whole.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical detail for varied audiences (customers, sales, engineering, leadership).
- Ability to work on site in Tysons, Virginia a minimum of three days per week (hybrid schedule).
