Job Summary
Principal Software Test Engineer at Medtronic within the Affera Mapping and Ablation System team. Lead testing of the systems software, develop and execute manual and automated test scripts, ensure software meets requirements, perform workflow analysis, document test results, and drive quality improvements. Collaborate with engineers to diagnose defects and improve product configuration across current and future models. Role emphasizes real-time high-performance visualization applications, strong test automation in Python, and adherence to medical-device verification practices (IEC-62304, FDA guidance). Onsite-focused role with a minimum of four days per week in the office at either Mounds View, MN or Newton, MA. U.S. work authorization sponsorship is offered at Principal level and above. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 7+ years of experience OR Master's degree with 5+ years OR PhD with 3+ years
- Experience debugging hardware with tools like oscilloscope and function generators
- Experience writing, executing, and maintaining test automation scripts in Python or a comparable language
- Experience automating functional, regression, and system-level test cases
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software)
