Job Summary
Principal Software Engineer role focused on building and shipping agent-powered platforms within a distributed engineering team. You will design and orchestrate agent ecosystems, embed with product and engineering teams, and drive autonomous agent workflows across technologies including GCP, Java, Flutter, and Golang. Responsibilities include shipping agent-built features and migrations, automating maintenance, improving deployment metrics, and creating reusable scaffolds and evaluation frameworks. The position emphasizes measurable business outcomes, collaboration with cross-functional teams, coaching engineers, rapid experimentation with new AI-assisted development approaches, and sustaining high-quality software delivery practices.
Required Qualifications
- Strong software engineering experience shipping production systems used by real customers
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Aider, or similar
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Java, Flutter, and/or Golang
- Proficiency in at least two of: backend development, frontend development, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or data systems
- Ability to understand complex codebases and deliver value in unfamiliar environments
- Experience building, testing, and validating software with focus on quality and measurable outcomes
- Knowledge of modern software delivery practices including CI/CD, observability, feature flags, incident management, and production operations
- Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision making
- Experience automating engineering workflows to reduce toil and improve delivery performance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, and business teams
- Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with bias toward action, experimentation, and continuous improvement
- Strong judgment and attention to detail
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving best practices
- Knowledge of marketplace, e-commerce, classifieds, or consumer internet platforms
- Experience designing and operating multi-agent workflows or autonomous systems in production environments
- Experience with evaluating frameworks, benchmarking AI system performance
- Public speaking, technical writing, or community involvement related to AI or software engineering
- Curiosity for emerging AI technologies and rapid adoption of new tools
