Job Summary
Develop C++ simulation entities and plugins for the Advanced Framework for Simulation Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) within the C2BMC missile defense program. Maintain, debug, and configure related software products while designing, coding, and benchmarking Java-based components using Spring frameworks. Perform analysis and technical support for systems software, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, and operational integration. Interface with system support groups to resolve issues, set standards, and improve operating system efficiency. Work on most phases of software systems programming applications, requiring instruction and guidance in other phases as needed. This role supports the U.S. President and combatant commanders in planning and controlling missile defense operations globally.
Required Qualifications
- Current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited university
- 5 years of experience
- Master's degree in a related field
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- 9 years of relevant work experience
- Strong AFSIM and C++ experience
- Experience developing AFSIM plugins for high-performance, real-time simulation
- Strong Java experience
- Experience with Spring-based application frameworks using xml configurations that do not leverage Spring Boot
- Understanding of TCP/IP and Pub/Sub usage within simulation contexts
- Experience developing and working with simulation frameworks for both test and training use cases
- Required knowledge of basic software practices such as: Coding standards
- Required knowledge of basic software practices such as: Configuration management
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced team environment
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AFSIM plugin development in C++ in Eclipse and/or VSCode
- Experience developing enterprise applications using Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, and Maven development environments
- Experience with Java Spring
- Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits
- Interest in simulation entity development and simulation control user interfaces
