Principal Software Engineer - Full Stack

Job Summary
Lead client accounts holistically for people, delivery, quality, and commercials while building great digital products and solving problems with stakeholders who expect results. Deploy mastery in backend services across synchronous API, message-driven, and event-driven paradigms using Java, C#, Python, or TypeScript, and build cloud-native applications on AWS or Azure. Define strategies for Agentic AI products, produce automated tests, and work within DevOps teams using industry-standard practices. Travel ad hoc to client sites throughout the UK to enable first-class service delivery. Manage team growth and technical excellence within the Software & Platform Engineering team, contributing to regional engineering communities and shaping conversations on diverse tech stacks.
Required Qualifications
- significant experience leading teams and growing the careers of team members
- building relationships with stakeholders who are expecting to see results
- experience in backend services in several different integration paradigms, for example synchronous API-driven, message-driven, and event-driven
- fluent in at least one of Java /c# / Python / Typescript or React
- recent experience building, deploying, and running cloud-native applications on top of AWS and/or Azure
- strong practical experience of defining strategies, building and delivering products & services using Agentic AI
- experience with professional level certification
- working in DevOps teams with industry-standard practices
- producing repeatable, automated tests for your own work
- comfortable with change and always happy to learn something new
- flex individual roles and tech stacks as required to get the best outcomes for the clients
- willing to travel to client sites throughout the UK on an ad hoc basis
- spend time onsite with our clients and partners
