Principal Software Engineer

Job Summary
Define and guide technical solutions for the Flex Platform, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. Act as a technical authority to support engineers and architects in making long-term decisions on microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native patterns. Provide mentorship to engineers across levels, reviewing critical designs and pull requests to enforce clean code and performance standards. Partner with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver features with strong automation, observability, and secure-by-default practices. Drive engineering consistency by promoting standards for APIs, CI/CD, and documentation while supporting complex production troubleshooting. Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and leadership within this global cloud-based software organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong professional experience in software development, including strong hands-on experience in backend, frontend, cloud, and distributed systems
- Strong experience developing REST APIs and designing scalable service-oriented or microservices-based solutions
- Strong experience with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or other modern JavaScript frameworks
- Strong experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, design principles, and design patterns, including SOLID, DDD, microservices, event sourcing, CQRS, and BFF
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as SQL Server, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or similar technologies
- Solid understanding of cloud-native development, high availability, performance, scalability, and secure software development practices
- Experience working in Agile, full-stack, fast-paced engineering teams focused on delivering high-quality products
- Strong understanding of automated testing, unit testing, API testing, and quality engineering practices
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and provide clear technical recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
- Good communication skills in English, spoken and written, suitable for working in a global environment
- Experience with Azure Services, Azure Infrastructure, and Azure DevOps deployment
- Good working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices using Azure DevOps or similar tools
- Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, GitHub Advanced Security, SAST, SCA, DAST, and secure SDLC practices
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or similar tools
- Experience with test-driven development, microservices architecture, performance testing, and automation frameworks
- Knowledge of common SCM practices, including branching strategies, code reviews, and code merges
- Ability to work well in ambiguous situations, make difficult technical decisions, and guide teams toward long-term outcomes
