Job Summary
Principal Software Engineer in Dublin, hybrid role based in Dublin, Ireland with full relocation provided. Define and promote architectural best practices, set technical direction for scalable solutions, mentor engineering teams, and partner with cross-functional leaders to align technical solutions with strategic objectives. Role emphasizes solving complex business challenges at the intersection of customer needs and engineering excellence, with a focus on reliability, performance, and end-to-end user experience across the Toast product suite. Two days per week in the Dublin office as part of a hybrid work model.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong background in full-stack development
- Proficient with Java, Kotlin or other OO languages
- Experience with modern web and API standards (React, REST, GraphQL)
- Experience leading or influencing large cross-team initiatives
- Proficient with relational and non-relational databases
- Experience delivering customer-facing systems with reliability and performance
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration with product, design, and operations
