Job Summary
Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-level Java and Spring applications, including microservices and cloud solutions on AWS and Azure. Lead architecture design teams to define application-level strategies, establish full project life cycles, and coordinate complex schedules across multiple platforms. Conduct performance tuning, risk assessment, and technical evaluations to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. Mentor junior team members, advise senior management on technical strategy, and act as a primary liaison for business units to resolve project issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent)
- Five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and building responsive web applications in a financial services environment
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent)
- Three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and building responsive web applications in a financial services environment
- Demonstrated Expertise developing enterprise Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to optimize account performance and product inquiries by applying authorization rules - OAuth framework - in support of investment strategies, using Spring Boot frameworks and Java
- Demonstrated Expertise performing automation using Serenity Cucumber framework in Java, for AWS lambda services and Spring Boot APIs
- Demonstrated Expertise applying DevOps principles throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to provide financial services continuity on web applications by performing Continuous Integration (CI) and deployments (using Jenkins) and code scanning (using Sonar)
- Demonstrated Expertise providing solutions by testing and improving application performance (for compliance score) and identifying performance bottlenecks, using MOX
- Demonstrated Expertise assisting consumers with investments strategies by writing SQL stored procedures and complex queries that interact with Postgres databases and validate product strategies and account data
- Demonstrated Expertise building enterprise financial services and performing Service Management Automation (SMA) account management to maintain (create or delete) and update account data in a financial service environment, using AWS Lambda and Python
- Demonstrated Expertise creating solutions and strategies for business use cases in an SMA domain, using Spring Boot and AWS
- Designs, develops, tests, and deploys enterprise-level applications using Java, JavaScript, Spring Core and MVC frameworks, testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Test), and tools (Swagger, Git, Jenkins, uDeploy, and Docker)
- Designs microservices and performs performance tuning of services
- Designs and architects Cloud based solutions using Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings
- Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives
- Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management
- Participates in architecture design teams
- Defines and implements application-level architecture
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division
- Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms
- Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget
- Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects
- Plans and coordinates complex project schedules and assignments for multiple projects
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives
- Advises senior management on technical strategy
- Mentors junior team members
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
