Job Summary
Build and support stable, robust Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern frameworks to improve online customer experiences. Establish engineering standards, design patterns, and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions to streamline delivery and ensure QA readiness. Lead architecture design, conduct code reviews, and perform independent technical analysis for complex divisional initiatives within a financial services environment. Advise senior management on technical strategy and risk management while mentoring junior team members. Coordinate project schedules and act as a liaison to resolve technology issues. Full-time onsite role; no immigration sponsorship provided.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent)
- Five (5) years of experience as Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and deploying Android applications in a financial services environment, using Android Studio, Jetpack compose, Kotlin, Jenkins, and Git
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent)
- Three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and deploying Android applications in a financial services environment, using Android Studio, Jetpack compose, Kotlin, Jenkins, and Git
- Demonstrated Expertise performing hybrid mobile application development and unit testing (in a Monorepo structure) within a financial services environment, using programming languages (Typescript, Java, and Kotlin)
- Demonstrated Expertise integrating native code for Android (Java and Kotlin) when needed for platform-specific features
- Demonstrated Expertise creating reusable, maintainable, and testable code components that can be shared across platforms without duplication, using Capacitor
- Demonstrated Expertise working with state management solutions (NgRx – actions, effects, reducers, selectors, and providers) across platforms to ensure efficient data flow and to maintain application consistency
- Demonstrated Expertise structuring the application with modular, scalable architecture patterns (Model-View-Controller (MVC) and Model-View-View Model (MVVM)) that can be maintained and extended
- Demonstrated Expertise building CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications using GitHub Actions and Jenkins
- Demonstrated Expertise performing automated testing, building, and deployment for Android using CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrated Expertise automating application release processes for the Google Play Store
