Job Summary
Principal Software Engineer on the Starship Continuous Integration team responsible for owning, designing, maintaining, and scaling tools that power Starship software development across hundreds of engineers. Role involves hands-on integration and troubleshooting across the Starship software stack, collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain a pool of on-premises compute, and delivering solutions that enable fast, correct software development. Expected to work with Bazel or similar build systems, fluency in Python/C++/Rust/Go, experience building tools affecting large engineering teams, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed. Compensation range $200,000-$285,000 per year plus comprehensive benefits and performance-based incentives. Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline; OR 9+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree
