Job Summary
As a Principal Software Engineer at JPMorganChase in Consumer and Community Banking, lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure AWS cloud infrastructure and guide engineering teams through architecture patterns, automation (IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation), and cloud modernization efforts. Architect and automate infrastructure provisioning, drive cloud security/compliance, mentor engineers on AWS best practices, optimize costs, troubleshoot complex issues, and evaluate new AWS services to advance the firm’s cloud ecosystem. Role emphasizes leadership across large teams, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering resilient, production-grade cloud solutions with a focus on secure, governed, and high-performing platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering with a focus on cloud platforms and enterprise-scale environments
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (or higher)
- Strong Python scripting experience
- Hands-on experience with Docker containers
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar)
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices (IAM, encryption, compliance controls)
- Proven track record in troubleshooting and optimizing cloud infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and drive adoption of best practices across large engineering teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
