Job Summary
Own the end-to-end architecture for Aderant Talent, a greenfield platform on AWS for recruiting and evaluating global law firms. Set service boundaries, document MongoDB schemas, and define API contracts while managing data migration from legacy products. Lead AI-enabled features, including evaluation drafting and sentiment analysis, ensuring guardrails for sensitive performance data. Architect role-based access controls and auditability for tenant isolation. Design and ship production TypeScript/Node and Go services, build integration surfaces with HRIS and payroll systems, and engineer event-driven workflows using SQS and Step Functions. Lead architecture reviews, mentor senior engineers, and manage on-call rotation for production stability.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years at a staff, principal, or equivalent architect level
- Demonstrated ownership of the architecture of a production SaaS product at scale
- Experience taking a new platform from initial design to production
- Experience building software that handles sensitive personal data under real compliance obligations
- Track record of raising technical quality across teams you did not manage
- Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and Node for production services
- Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and Node for production services, including async failure modes
- Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and Node for production services, including a modern server framework (NestJS, Fastify, Express, or similar)
