Job Summary
Principal Software Engineer at Acme leading architecture across the production application portfolio, including enterprise analytics, conversational AI, ERP integration, e-commerce sync, manufacturing systems, and the AI automation platform. Individual contributor at the architect level, owning architectural patterns and engineering standards across .NET, Azure, data, and AI development while writing production code. Responsible for setting technical direction, leading end-to-end delivery of high‐complexity initiatives, mentoring senior and mid‐level engineers through paired delivery and code reviews, and maintaining documentation such as architecture decision records. Drives technical alignment with business partners, evaluates emerging technologies (AI, agentic systems), and partners with the CDIO on multi-year technology roadmaps; maintains incidence response, testing, observability, and operational excellence across the portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience
- Experience in manufacturing, food, beverage, or consumer packaging goods environments preferred
- Infor M3 or other Tier 1 ERP integration experience is a plus
- Deep expertise in Microsoft .NET/C# application development
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure (App Service, Container Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Entra ID, Azure SQL Managed Instance)
- Strong database and data engineering capabilities (T-SQL, ETL/ELT, dimensional modeling, Python, dbt, Airflow, Parquet, Delta Lake)
- Experience designing AI-enabled applications using retrieval-augmented generation, agents, tool integrations
- Proven ability to set architectural direction and drive scalable solutions
- Strong DevOps and software delivery practices (Git, CI/CD, automated testing, observability)
- Mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
