Job Summary
Principal Software Architect for SAP Knowledge Graph responsible for shaping end-to-end architecture and driving production-grade KG solutions. Define and own the architectural direction, translate use cases into architecture, ensure adherence to SAP development standards, and collaborate with AI scientists, data engineers, and knowledge engineers to deliver scalable, multi-tenant cloud/SaaS applications. Demonstrated experience with large-scale distributed systems, containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes), and languages such as Python/Java/Scala. Familiarity with SAP products and knowledge-graph technologies (RDF, SPARQL, SHACL) plus strong communication with diverse stakeholders. Hybrid role based in Walldorf or Berlin, Germany, with 0-10% travel within a global Business AI organization.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of Software Engineering experience
- at least 5 years of professional experience as a cloud architect
- Expertise in architectural design for large-scale distributed systems
- experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Knowledge of SAP Business AI offerings (Joule, AI agents, AI Core/Launchpad, Generative AI Hub)
- Experience with SAP products like SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, SAP SuccessFactors or similar
- Strong communication skills to convey architecture to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in agile environments with design, development, deployment, and testing of multi-tenant cloud/SaaS apps
- Experience with Knowledge Graph technologies (RDF, SPARQL, SHACL) is a big plus
- Ability to collaborate with AI Scientists, Data Engineers and Knowledge Engineers
- Willingness to work in a distributed, geographically diverse team
- 0-10% travel
- Hybrid work location in Europe (Germany)
