Job Summary
Generate annual net revenue exceeding $750,000 through client development, project pursuits, and strategic business development across California. Lead proposal development, client interviews, and contract negotiations while overseeing environmental site investigation and remediation projects from initial planning through regulatory closure. Provide senior-level technical expertise in groundwater, soil, and sediment contamination, mentor technical staff, and oversee the preparation of technical reports and regulatory submittals. Represent the firm at industry organizations and conferences to expand the client base. This role requires 20+ years of experience in environmental consulting and is fully remote for candidates based in Northern California or the Bay Area, with periodic travel throughout the state.
Required Qualifications
- 20+ years of progressively responsible experience in environmental consulting, site investigation, and remediation
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience with environmental investigation and remediation involving: Groundwater contamination, Soil contamination, Soil vapor, Sediment contamination, Petroleum hydrocarbons, Chlorinated solvents, Metals
- Demonstrated success managing complex environmental remediation projects and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and remediation programs
- Proven ability to develop and maintain senior-level client relationships and contribute to business development and revenue growth
- Strong technical writing, communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience with project budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and financial performance management
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, develop markets, and contribute to the long-term growth of a consulting practice
- Candidates must be based in Northern California or the Bay Area
- Periodic travel throughout California will be required
Desired Qualifications
- PE, PG, or other relevant professional registration
- Emerging contaminants experience
- Experience with projects involving utility, industrial, manufacturing, transportation, and/or brownfield redevelopment sites
- Familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, UST, and state-led cleanup programs
- Experience with the design and/or oversight of remedial systems, excavation, groundwater treatment, vapor mitigation, and site restoration
