Job Summary

Implement the Risk Management Framework (RMF) by selecting and implementing security controls to meet applicable government standards and ensuring compliance with NIST SP 800-53 and DoD RMF guidance. Interfacing with engineering teams practicing Agile development to perform security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and system security plan audits. Serve as Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support continuous assessment of IA Control compliance and conduct peer reviews of customer-facing cyber documentation. Install, upgrade, and monitor systems while troubleshooting configuration issues to improve performance, reliability, and security. This fully onsite role in Woodland Hills, CA, operates on a 9/80 schedule and requires a Secret clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience
  • PhD plus 1 year of relevant experience
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II or greater (e.g. Security+)
  • Demonstrated experience in governance, risk, and compliance
  • Implementation and assessment of security controls
  • Working knowledge of DoD 8500.01
  • Working knowledge of DoD 8510.01
  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-37
  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-53
  • Working knowledge of NIST 800-171

  • Using knowledge of government Cyber requirements applicable to weapons systems
  • Develop and document technical documentation and procedures as needed
  • Participate in team reviews of technical requirements, design and implementation plans prior to deployment
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance, reliability, and security of the system including installing, upgrading, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration
  • Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the security plan
  • Provide analysis, design, development, implementation and security assessments to ensure compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53, and DoD RMF Knowledge Service guidance
  • Serve as Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) supporting high-level technical and practical expertise
  • Support the continuous assessment of IA Control compliance for the program
  • Perform peer reviews of customer facing cyber documentation
  • 9/80 schedule availability
  • Fully onsite position in Woodland Hills, CA

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a technical emphasis (e.g. Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, EE)
  • Possess active Secret DoD Security Clearance
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), negotiation and interpersonal skills necessary to support activities/challenges working with engineering teams, management, customers, partners and government
