Job Summary
Principal Security Engineer role will support the cyber team handling mergers and acquisitions for Citizens Bank, collaborating with executives and security/technology experts to analyze security needs for acquisitions, develop strategic and tactical solutions, perform due diligence, remediation, and integration across security domains, and provide guidance on security initiatives. Responsibilities include building stakeholder relationships across security and technology, developing risk-based mitigations, supporting security tool deployments, producing meaningful metrics, and communicating technical concepts to business audiences.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in IT security, computer science or related field required
- 10 or more year of security experience in all domains
- Understanding of programming languages, OWASP and security best practices
- Knowledge of Generative AI and agentic principles
- Experience with application code scanning tools for security vulnerabilities
- Penetration testing understanding
- Working knowledge of IAM
- Scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell
- Experience with security event logging and monitoring systems
- Ability to write technical documentation and present to non-technical audiences
- Bachelor’s degree in IT security, computer science or related field required
