Job Summary
Lead R&D and design-control activities for dental chemical consumables, acting as SME and technical leader to drive high-impact product development and lifecycle management. Independently designs and executes experiments to validate product performance, reliability, and shelf life; contributes to strategic roadmaps; ensures quality, risk management, and adherence to design control. Mentors junior scientists, fosters lab practices improvement, and represents R&D in cross-functional initiatives to support successful product launches. Requires doctoral degree (or equivalent) and onsite Pomona, CA work; strong collaboration, communication, and analytical skills.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in chemistry, polymer, or related fields OR 10+ years of research in the medical device industry with at least 4+ years in the dental industry
- Ability to work onsite five days per week
- Skilled in conducting standard chemical or physical testing
- Expertise in material testing (chemical and physical)
- Experience applying good laboratory practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize
